May 20, 2015—Cloud-computing billing firm Xifin has acquired VisualShare, a Salt Lake City-based medical informatics company specializing in diagnostic image management. The acquisition is intended to expand Xifin’s capabilities to deliver enhanced documentation and facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration through its Health Economics Optimization platform. Xifin said the purchase advances the company’s strategy to combine financial and clinical data with business intelligence and analytics to achieve improved patient outcomes at a lower cost.

VisualShare provides a cloud-based medical imaging management solution and image collaboration platform that integrates imaging and text into a consolidated record for diagnostic service providers and clinicians. The technology supports advanced diagnostic data, including whole-slide imaging, DICOM and non-DICOM images, video, and next-gen sequencing.
