April 2022–Rheonix announced that the FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for its automated Encompass MDx Workstation along with its STI TriPlex assay and Male Urine Collection Kit for the detection of sexually transmitted infections. The molecular testing device is a closed system that is automated from sample loading to result reporting, provides direct tube sampling, and contains all the reagents needed.

June 2020—Rheonix announced it has received FDA emergency use authorization for the Rheonix COVID-19 MDx Assay. The fully automated test enables detection of SARS-CoV-2 directly from respiratory samples and runs on the Rheonix Encompass MDx workstation. The workstation is suitable for use in low- to medium-throughput labs and enables same-day results.

May 1, 2020—Rheonix announced it has received FDA emergency use authorization for the Rheonix COVID-19 MDx Assay.

June 2016—Rheonix, in collaboration with New York University College of Dentistry, has received funding from a Small Business Innovation Research Phase I/II Fast-track grant from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research of the National Institutes of Health to develop a rapid diagnostic for Zika virus infection.

May 2016—Rheonix has completed development and testing of a microfluidic system and assay to simultaneously detect host anti-HIV antibodies and viral RNA in a single specimen of saliva or blood.

December 2015—Rheonix raised $28.6 million to further expand the company’s commercialization efforts for its molecular testing platforms, the Encompass MDx and Encompass Optimum.

July 2015—Rheonix showcased in June its Encompass Optimum research-use-only platform at the 115th General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology. The Encompass Optimum is an automated system for building and implementing molecular assays as a nonclinical tool.

September 2014—Rheonix displayed its Chemical and Reagent Device, CARD, and EncompassMDx molecular testing platform at AACC. The Rheonix CARD is a disposable cartridge the size of a credit card that runs multiple samples simultaneously without user intervention.
