August 2015—How one pathologist made use of artificial intelligence: Like many pathologists, Jay J. Ye, MD, PhD, longed to spend less time preparing reports and more time interpreting slides and rendering diagnoses. Rather than dedicating half of his workday to what he considers secretarial tasks, the dermatopathologist wanted to devote the lion’s share of his hours in the lab toward applying the knowledge and skills he developed during his years of medical training and practice.

April 2015—Genologics announced that GenomeDx Biosciences has implemented Genologics’ laboratory information management system, Clarity LIMS, to support whole transcriptome analysis workflows as part of GenomeDx’s mission to address unmet clinical needs in the management of prostate cancer. Headquartered in Vancouver, BC, GenomeDx will use Clarity LIMS in its CLIA-certified lab in San Diego.

November 2014—GenoLogics has been selected by Illumina as the laboratory information management system provider to support customers of the HiSeq X Ten sequencing system. Under the agreement, the companies will provide support for HiSeq X Ten whole-genome workflows and analysis pipelines, including those to be used inside of Illumina.
