July 2017—BloodCenter of Wisconsin launched its VWF GPIbM Activity assay, which aims to more accurately measure von Willebrand factor activity. The assay detects qualitative VWF defects, reducing variability and providing more precise, reliable, and sensitive test results.

BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s Diagnostic Laboratories, part of Versiti, announced the availability of genetic deletion/duplication analysis. Using array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH), this test provides timely detection of deletions and/or duplications that may escape detection with standard DNA sequencing tests. The test allows for the detection of deletions and duplications within a given gene, whether within a single exon, encompassing one or more exons, or the entire gene.

November 2014—BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s diagnostic laboratories announced the availability of its erythroid chimerism test to monitor erythroid lineage chimerism in patients with sickle cell disease following allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.

BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s Diagnostic Laboratories has expanded its genetic testing menu for hemophilia. Its new approach to hemophilia genetics allows BloodCenter to identify the genetic abnormality in greater than 95 percent of all hemophilia patients.
