October 2014—The Viaflo Assist is a multichannel pipette from Integra that works with Viaflo II electronic pipettes to prevent users from repetitive strain injuries and to significantly increase the reproducibility of prolonged pipetting protocols such as serial dilutions, plate fillings, and reagent addition.
The three-step operation begins with inserting an 8-, 12-, or 16-channel Viaflo II pipette into the adapter, then choosing between three predefined pipetting protocols (or a custom program can be created), and pressing Run.
All programs are set up with the touch-wheel-controlled user interface of the pipette. Communication between the pipettes and the Assist is established via Bluetooth, supporting simple wireless connectivity. Six- to 384-well plates can be used, and samples can be aspirated from a 10-, 25-, or 100-mL reagent reservoir, strip tubes, a multiwell plate, or an external source.
