May 2015—Radiometer has announced the launch of a dedicated Individualized Quality Control Plan tool for hospitals using the ABL90 Flex blood gas analyzer. The IQCP tool provides a template for hospitals with ABL90 Flex analyzers to develop a customized quality control plan. Starting at the preanalytical phase, the tool next guides the laboratorian through the analytical and postanalytical processes, identifying key areas of focus to ensure the development of an IQCP program that is right for each institution.
To ensure IQCP compliance during the analytical phase, the ABL90 Flex’s Automated Quality Management System challenges the entire sample pathway, including the inlet probe. The tool also offers risk-mitigation strategies such as the use of samplers with patented electrolyte-balanced heparin and automatic mixing to eliminate clots.
The IQCP tool is part of Radiometer LIVE, the company’s customer care program, and is available free of charge to all ABL90 Flex analyzer customers.
