Histology lab products, 11/15

November 2015—General Data Healthcare has introduced five products for the histology lab. The ID/Positive CL-04 Laser Cassette Marker offers permanent, indelible marking of tissue cassettes and slides with high-resolution text and barcodes and features four removable cassette magazines, each holding up to 70 cassettes, for a total of 280, which can be switched with magazines containing different cassette types or colors.

The DirectMark Laser Cassette Marker features “phase change” technology, meaning the marking comes from within the cassette itself. Cassettes are printed using a low-powered laser, creating a permanent and indelible high-resolution image. Text and barcodes can be printed on three sides of the cassette.

RTP/RTPH Rapid Tissue Processors process up to 360 small biopsies safely in 40 minutes. The five levels of unique agitation (“bubbling” or “percolating”) maximize fluid-tissue exchange ratios, providing safe tissue processing while accelerating processing times. The enclosed pneumatic system traps noxious fumes in the closed loop and eliminates xylene and alcohol evaporation.

The ShurCut Artis A Automated Microtome features a smooth-running handwheel, blade removal system, and lateral knife holder adjustment. The operator controls cutting and trimming speeds by adjusting the pressure on the dynamic foot pedal. A backlit LED light array allows the operator to view through the block for orientation, specimen count, and/or section quality.

The ShurStain Linear Slide Stainer is a small benchtop unit that can perform up to five H&E or five Pap processes simultaneously, while also meeting requirements for special and user-specified staining protocols.
