High-speedSorters1September 2014—AutoSorter 2000BB is Yaskawa Motoman’s new high-speed bulk sorter for high-volume commercial laboratories. AutoSorter 2000BB provides specimen throughput of up to 2,000 tubes per hour. It minimizes manual handling of specimens through bulk loading and unloading, and reduces sequential sorting by fine sorting in one step. The system also features data connectivity, sorting to 24 bins with options for loading to racks or a track, and accommodates a wide range of container types and sizes.

AutoSorter 2000BB uses the AutoSorter 1200 platform, a robust sorter engine designed and built to industrial standards to serve for an extended lifecycle in high-demand laboratory environments. AutoSorter 1200 is a high-speed sorting instrument for pre- and postanalytic specimen processing with a throughput of up to 1,200 tubes per hour. A large sort deck area yields extended walkaway times and expanded deck configuration options, while its reduced footprint saves floor space. It may be positioned against a wall or next to other instruments since maintenance access is at the front of the instrument.

High-speedSorters2The AutoSorter 1200 accommodates a variety of specimen tube configurations and instrument racks. It may be used as a standalone work cell for specimen processing (AutoSorter 1200S), or it may be connected to a track system (AutoSorter 1200T) as part of an integrated pre- and postanalytic specimen processing system.

Earlier this year Agile Planet, a leading developer of intelligent software and hardware engineered to dramatically improve the performance of industrial robots, changed its name to Yaskawa Innovation following its acquisition by Yaskawa Motoman in June 2013.
