Used in conjunction with Alpha-Tec Systems’ NAC-PAC (N-acetylcysteinepackage ) line of digestion/ decontamination, buffering, and resuspension reagents, Alpha-Tec’s five percent oxalic acid is recommended to optimize decontamination conditions of specimens with P. aeruginosa.
Studies have shown that combining the NALCNaOH decontamination method with oxalic acid treatment greatly reduced bacterial overgrowth and improved recovery of mycobacteria. Five percent oxalic acid is ready for use and can be incorporated into routine clinical testing.
