Blood collection tubes for cfDNA, CTCs

July 2018—Biocept has launched its CEE-Sure blood collection tubes for research use only, and internationally distributed through VWR. CEE-Sure BCTs allow for the intact transport of liquid biopsy samples at room temperature. A unique feature, the company says, is the ability to preserve circulating cell-free DNA and circulating tumor cells collected from the patient in the same tube. The CEE-Sure technology utilizes media that inhibit cell clumping, thus preventing the clogging of microfluidics devices. It also can preserve high-quality circulating cfDNA for advanced molecular testing applications such as noninvasive prenatal testing and the detection of gene mutations in cancer. Specimen types that can be transported include blood, cerebrospinal fluid, sputum, and fluid obtained from pleural effusion.
