Answer book for collecting blood draws, 10/17

October 2017—The Center for Phlebotomy Education has published The Lab Draw Answer Book. The book provides answers to more than 400 questions commonly asked by health care professionals about drawing, handling, and processing blood samples for laboratory tests.

The 440-page book provides referenced and standards-based answers to technical and administrative questions about phlebotomy, including performing venipunctures and skin punctures; patient and health care worker safety; management of blood collection personnel; infection control; sample handling; and how blood collection errors affect patient care.

The authors plan to release soon a digital version for e-readers. The title is available on the center’s website at www.phlebotomy.com/product/8225.cpe.
