November 2015—Mindray received 510(k) clearance to market and sell the Mindray BC-3600 Auto Hematology Analyzer, which aims to meet the testing needs of small and mid-volume hematology laboratories.
The BC-3600 Hematology Analyzer features closed-tube sampling via a single push button. The 10.4-inch color touchscreen allows visibility from all angles. Hemoglobin analysis is performed using cyanide-free reagents. The analyzer processes up to 60 samples per hour and stores up to 40,000 results with histograms. The barcode reader and optional LIS connectivity enable seamless sample data transmission, and workflow efficiency is enhanced by the intuitive software. Nearly all scheduled maintenance procedures are automated by touch buttons.
In a separate announcement, MedTest launched a major revision to its website focused on products within the MedTest DX brand. Viewers’ ease of use in navigation and access to valuable information needed by the laboratory were the key drivers of the revision. Medtestdx.com features new product descriptions titled “Ensembles” that include the instrument, test menu, consumables, and service and support; access to package inserts and safety data sheets; instrument demo videos; informational sections on topics such as drugs of abuse, group purchasing organizations, and integrated delivery networks; and displays that adapt to computers, tablets, or smart phones.
