November 2014—Randox released a white paper focusing on the importance of quality control in point-of-care testing. The white paper will help laboratories define an appropriate QC procedure for all point-of-care devices. It covers the fundamentals of developing a point-of-care QC strategy in line with ISO 15189 requirements and looks at who is responsible for QC and what QC is appropriate for different types of point-of-care devices. It also includes tips for choosing internal quality control material and an external quality assessment scheme.
The white paper is the first in a series and can be downloaded for free at the company’s website. The second white paper, which will be available in December, studies the importance of using 100 percent human serum controls to avoid lot-to-lot variations in immunoassay testing.
