March 2024—BD Biosciences has released its BD Horizon RealBlue 744 and 705 laser-specific reagents, designed to reduce spillover and well suited for low- to medium-expression surface and intracellular markers. RB 744 can be used on five-laser BD FacSymphony analyzers and spectral flow cytometers. RealBlue 705 is an alternative to BD PerCP-Cy5.5 and BD Brilliant Blue 700 reagents and is compatible with conventional and spectral flow cytometry.

April 2023—BD introduced the BD Rhapsody HT Xpress system for single-cell multiomics analysis. The system enables users to isolate, barcode, and analyze single cells at a high sample throughput—up to eight times more cells, BD says, than prior versions of its single-cell analyzers. Users can analyze multiple samples and different cell sizes and types, such as stem cells or cancer cells, at the same time.

June 2019—BD announced the worldwide availability of its FDA-cleared and CE-marked BD Bactec platelet quality control media to identify contaminated platelet units. The product can be used for quality control testing of leukocyte-reduced apheresis platelet units: leukocyte-reduced single and a pool of up to six units of leukocyte-reduced whole blood platelet concentrates.

December 2018—BD announced the availability of the CE-marked BD Max MDR-TB panel in Europe. Clinicians can use the single PCR-based molecular diagnostic test to simultaneously detect bacteria that cause tuberculosis and determine if the bacteria contain mutations associated with resistance to two first-line drugs, isoniazid and rifampicin.

May 2016—BD mouse T-lymphocyte and B-lymphocyte kits, protocols, and software templates for the BD Accuri C6 flow cytometer aim to simplify the identification of mouse T and B lymphocytes, their subsets, and their activation markers. The kits include fluorescent antibodies, buffer systems, and controls needed for acquisition and analysis.

April 2016—The BD FACSCelesta flow cytometer is designed to make multicolor flow cytometry more accessible and allow researchers to benefit from innovations in instrument and reagent technology.
