April 2014—Eppendorf North America added five models to its epMotion range of automated pipetting systems. The epMotion 5075 system uses Eppendorf’s epBlue software and an intuitive software assistant concept that can be easily programmed and requires only initial training for new users. 
April 2014—Molecular Pathology Laboratory Network, of Maryville, Tenn., acquired the Illumina MiSeqDx, a next-generation sequencing system cleared by the FDA for targeted sequencing of human genomic DNA. MPLN will leverage the system for the expansion of testing across all of its clinical laboratories, including its clinical trials group Geneuity Clinical Research Services.
