November 2016—Sarstedt offers low protein binding micro tubes in 0.5 mL, 1.5 mL, and 2.0 mL volumes. These tubes are designed to meet the requirements of protein analytics while maximizing protein recovery rates. The micro tubes are manufactured from a proprietary polypropylene with low protein binding properties and do not feature any potentially contaminating surface coating like silicone.
The tubes are topped with an attached, flat SafeSeal cap with a toothlike cam that locks over the tube rim, designed to increase retaining strength and provide a reliable, secure closure. Tubes can be centrifuged to 20,000 × g and are “PCR performance tested” and therefore certified to be free of human DNA, DNase, RNase, and PCR inhibitors, according to a company statement.
