Educational resources from Diagnostica Stago, 10/13

Diagnostica Stago offers expertise through two free electronic resources to educate health care professionals about hemostasis and thrombosis. The Stago-EdVantage Web site and iHemOStasis app for the Apple iPad offer ways to increase hemostasis knowledge; understand clinical situations, therapies, and detection methods; and apply practical skills to patient care.

The Stago-EdVantage Web site offers continuing education courses on hemostasis topics, including anticoagulation, hypercoagulability, and current screening tests and treatments. The courses are taught by Stago experts and independent key thought leaders. Each course is archived as a webcast so participants can view it at their convenience. ASCLS PACE credits are available upon course completion.

The iHemOStasis app serves as a hemostasis primer. The user interface offers animation of major coagulation mechanisms with detailed explanations of each phase, including intracellular and extracellular components; descriptions of the most current assays used to examine hemostasis along with therapies, disease state classifications, and decision trees; product literature supporting Stago’s anticoagulant, thrombin generation, and flow cytometry products, with reference ranges for hemostasis tests in childhood and pregnancy; and three case studies with quizzes to test the viewer’s knowledge.
