July 2014—DeNovo Sciences published “A novel microchannel-based device to capture and analyze circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of breast cancer.” DeNovo’s scientific team explored microfluidic capture techniques for isolating CTCs, which resulted in the development of proprietary technology to accomplish rare cell capture and analysis.
DeNovo’s Jetta 400 system performs the required processing steps to isolate CTCs, and performs downstream single-cell analysis to include immunochemistry, DNA FISH, mRNA FISH, and PCR. The ability to recover the bulk of CTCs from a liquid or small tissue sample will provide researchers the ability to monitor CTC activity and migration patterns.
