Biosearch Technologies has acquired the oligonucleotide manufacturing division of Danish company DNA Technology and the German CPG manufacturer VitraBio.
With the acquisition of DNA Technology, Biosearch adds a skilled production team with a mature quality system and an established European customer base focused in the Nordic countries. DNA Technology specializes in modified oligos and will benefit from full access to the breadth of specialty modifications that Biosearch produces. In addition, Biosearch will provide manufacturing tools and access to its IP portfolio, enabling DNA Technology to expand its production and product offerings.
With the acquisition of VitraBio in September 2011, Biosearch gained access to VitraBio’s sophisticated CPG manufacturing technology and production facility. In addition to continuing production of DNA/RNA synthesis support for the research and therapeutic oligo markets, Biosearch intends to bring chemical manufacturing capabilities to VitraBio’s Steinach facility to supplement U.S. production of specialty amidites and modified CPGs.
