July 2018—Becton Dickinson introduced several informatics and automation solutions for clinical laboratories at the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in Madrid, in April. The BD Synapsys microbiology informatics solution, which aims to help laboratories and hospitals meet cybersecurity and data privacy standards by providing secure connectivity across instruments and locations, will launch soon in the U.S. The solution will initially support BD Bactec FX systems, BD Kiestra solutions, and in the U.S., BD Veritor Plus systems.
The company aims to offer in mid-2019 in Western Europe its BD Cor system, a high-throughput, automated molecular platform designed to support a menu of clinically differentiated assays for women’s health, sexually transmitted infections, and gastrointestinal applications.
